Grossmont Varsity Cheerleaders Take Third in District Competition

Granite Hills claims grand champion title at El Cajon Valley High School as event moves from football stadium to the gym.

Grossmont High School’s varsity team took third Wednesday night in the 2011 Grossmont Union High School District cheer competition, beating the rain by contending in the El Cajon Valley High School gymnasium instead of the football stadium.

West Hills came out with second place in Varsity Advanced nearly keeping up with the stunning, and hard to beat, Granite Hills cheer squad, which went home as grand champions.

Teams competed at the junior varsity, varsity, varsity advanced and varsity co-ed levels, as well as jumper and tumbler competitions.
