Birthday July 6
Bio Steven Bartholow is the local editor for Santee Patch. He is a San Diego native and a big fan of Santee Lakes. A graduate of SDSU and Grossmont College, he has written and created multimedia for a number of San Diego news outlets, including SDNN and KPBS. In his free time he plays music and experiments with a variety of creative endeavors.
Your Beliefs "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." I truly believe in that statement, and hope to tell the story of some of those things. I believe in living a rational, level-headed life, and treating others with honesty and respect. I went into journalism in order that knowledge and lines of communication would be opened.
Politics I have a progressive-libertarian political bend, whatever that means. Basically, "Live and let live" with some necessary social systems in place. I am a registered Democrat, for the time being, but don't buy into either party's line. I base my politics solely on "realistic" cause and effect.
Religion Raised Catholic, currently spiritually agnostic, certainly non-religious.
Local Hot-Button Issues The issues facing Santee right now are all based on expansion in some form or another. Los Colinas, suburban expansion, landfills, highways, population, you name it. The city is changing and the future is uncertain. What will Santee look like in 10 years? It's hard to say, but we're going to try and figure it out.

Curious as to why blogs are being posted on a news site that are simply being used to personally attack other people. I know it's opinions by local people, but it comes across as having a ringing endorsement by the Patch.
It saddens me that people use these venues to air dirty laundry. I used to really enjoy reading the Patch.

Just wondering if you knew why the large earth moving equipment in on Mast Blvd. across from West Hills H.S.? The equipment showed up yesterday afternoon, 08-31-11. If I remember correctly that land belongs to the City of San Diego.
