A resident in the 7200 block of MacQuarie Street awoke to a burglar inside their home on Wednesday, June 26, according to the La Mesa Police Department.
Police said the burglar fled the home and the resident called police, who then responded and found the suspect hiding in a backyard on Melody Lane.
The suspect was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of residential burglary.
