Women Robbed of Purses at Gunpoint on La Mesa Boulevard

Suspects are two black males seen fleeing on foot.

La Mesa police were on the lookout for two men who threatened a pair of women with a handgun and a crowbar while robbing them of their purses.

The robbery in the 8100 block of La Mesa Boulevard was reported at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, according to a La Mesa police statement.

The robbers approached the women from behind and later fled on foot, police said. Neither woman was hurt.

Police described the gunman as black, in his 20s, with a mustache or goatee. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and baggy pants. His crowbar-wielding accomplice was described as black, in his 20s, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
