80-Year-Old With Alzheimer's Disease Who Wandered Off Found Safe

An 80-year-old La Mesa woman with Alzheimer's disease and diabetes who wandered off Saturday afternoon has been found safe.
Margaret Mamede walked away from the vicinity of University Avenue and La Mesa Boulevard this afternoon, according to the La Mesa Police Department.
Police said Mamede was disoriented and believed that she was in Ireland, but was sociable and knows her name.
By late afternoon, she had been found uninjured in Santee, police said.
