I was born Iowa. My family moved to La Mesa when I was 11years old and I've live in La Mesa ever since.

I have been busy mother of  four girls and one son. Most of my children were born at Grossmont hospital. Actively within the community, my two oldest daughters played softball year round. Until they graduated at Grossmont high school. My son still graduated Westhills high School The two youngest girls are Angel and Emily.

We love this town.

I've had some serious challenges throughout the years. My only son has Cerebral Palsy and my oldest daughter (Candice) passed away in 2005 from a drug over dose.

I am member of G.R.A.S.P. (Grief Recovery After a Substance Passing), A New Path ( Parents for Treatment and Healing) and Mother UNITED to End The Failed War on Drugs.

I've decided to start a chapter of GRASP here in the  La Mesa/ San Diego area. This group will allow family and friends a place to heal during a time bereavement.

GRASP is specificly for those whom have had a loss of a family member or friend who misused drugs and died. There are many types of support groups but very few for surviving this type of grief.

San Diego has an epidemic of drugs and drug over doses. many family and friends are sadly caught in the cross fire. This support group will be one a step towards healing and awareness for us all.

La Mesa is warm, caring town and a wonderful place to start that healing process for families and friends.
