John Garrod, Neighbor

Born and raised in New Jersey, I have been a Greater San Diego resident since 2000, and have lived in La Mesa since 2002.  This is my adopted hometown, and I love it here.

My adult career has been spent in the window and door business, and I am currently a Trade Sales Consultant for Pella Windows and Doors.  I have an extensive background in business operations, and specifically window and door manufacturing, having previously been the Vice-President and General Manager of Alpine Windowerks in nearby Spring Valley.

I am a strong believer in the adage that government that governs least, governs best, and that it is our duty as citizens to hold our elected representatives accountable.  The seeming demise of the watchdog, investigative journalist of old, forces us to take up their cause and expose government waste, fraud, and corruption wherever we find it.

I try to spend my free time sailing, cooking, working on the house and yard, and have been known to have a beer or two with friends at La Mesa's fine drinking establishments. 

I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Cori, an IT Professional, and have one son, Michael, a student at Helix Charter High.
