Jack, a columnist, has been in the real estate game since 1997 doing everything from flipping homes to investing in rental properties. Then he moved on to representing buyers and sellers as a Realtor. And finally he became a broker,  running an office with a team of Realtors. He's a 1983 graduate of Helix High School.

Jack grew up in La Mesa and went to La Mesa Junior High (Now La Mesa Middle School) before Helix High. After some years at Grossmont College, he went into the Air Force. After the service, he went to Los Angeles and tried to become a screen writer, but made a living as a bartender.

After seven years in L.A., Jack moved back to San Diego, where he immediately got involved with investing in rundown homes to flip.

Loving real estate, but not wanting to flip homes any more, he decided to get his real estate license, which he did in 1999. He secured his broker's license in 2005 and opened up The Rowell Family Corp. It was me, my wife (Lisa Marie) doing loans and my sister (Becky Green, Helix Alum, class '82) as a Realtor. Recently he started a new company, Presidio Alliance Realty.
