A Midwestern native, Angie is a graduate of the University of Minnesota's College of Liberal Arts. As a San Diego based freelance writer, she covers news, events, human interest pieces and anything else she can get her hands on. While her university studies were focused in psychology and cultural studies & comparative literature, a passion for discovery and venturing beyond the outer layer of people, places and cultural happenings drove Angie to find freelance work in the field of journalism. A writer since childhood, Angie's earliest memories of storytelling are in third grade when she authored her very first book, a mystery titled, "Galey Schmitz and the Danger Zone." While this work never enjoyed publication - perhaps in part to the author's horrendous attempt at illustrations - Angie continues to build on childhood aspirations of becoming a novelist. Since relocating from Minneapolis to San Diego with her husband in spring of 2010, she is more focused than ever on making this lifelong dream come true.
As a result of being curious and over-caffeinated, you may see Angie randomly buzzing around town working on stories or just exploring. When not busy working on freelance projects, you will likely find her on long afternoon beach cruises, plotting future travels or listening to tunes while doing awesome dances in her – or the neighbor's - kitchen.
