Casa de Oro Baptist Church, led by Pastor Ron Barnes, sits high above the Casa de Oro community on Madrid Road.…More It was established in 1948.</p> <p>All are welcome to come to the weekly worship services, Bible studies, prayer meetings and  Awana gatherings on Wednesdays for kids and teens. The church serves the community by providing many social service groups a place to meet.</p> <p>In addition, the church offers family Christian karate classes at its facility, and its members give to a food pantry, where needy people and families can select items.</p>

Established in 1949, Casa de Oro Elementary is one of the oldest schools in the La Mesa - Spring Valley School…More District. The school offers an environment that stresses achievement, both in and out of the classroom.</p> <p>Some of the special programs offered at the school include the OASIS reading tudor program, an autism cluster and a Garden Club, of which more than 80 students, teachers and communty volunteers are a part.</p> <p>A California Distinguished School, Casa de Oro's principal is Lisa Conry, who is in her first year at the school after coming from Fletcher Hills.</p>
