Helix Montessori School is a small, residential building with an enclosed backyard. The backyard houses a play place…More for its school children, complete with a small slide, clubhouse and sandboxes. Students at the school practice the "Montessori method," a way to teach children that emphasizes "self-learning" and encourages a sense of independence. It is  a private school with a capacity of 35 students.</p> <p>The small amount of students provides a close, nurturing atmosphere, where strong relationships can be developed. The school is owned and operated by Madhavi Shah.</p>

The Casa de Oro Sheriff storefront is a joint project between the Sheriff's Department, San Diego County Supervisor…More Dianne Jacob and the community. Established in 2009, on-duty sheriffs now have the ability to file reports efficiently while remaining on their beat and able to respond  to local 911 calls. </p> <p>The storefront is close to schools, residential neighborhoods and commercial stores providing a central location for the neighborhood to stop in with questions and concerns.</p> <p>Lieutenant James Bovet is in charge of this patrol division.  He says, "We are part of the community, we are here, use us as a resource!"</p>
