Helix stands high above the unincorporated communities of Mt. Helix, Casa de Oro, and Spring Valley.</p> <p>The park was first opened in the 1920s, with the land being donated by the White, Yawkey, and Fletcher families. The amphitheatre was built in 1925, and has hosted Easter morning sunrise services for almost every year since.</p> <p>Offering 360-degree views of all of San Diego County, Mt. Helix is the ideal place to have a picnic, read a book, spend time with a loved one, or simply relax with your thoughts.</p> <p>The park Foundation was founded in 1999.
