Test Drive New Electric Vehicles Saturday at Liberty Station

Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles will be on the display and available to drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Liberty Station.

San Diegans can test drive new electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles at a public event Saturday at Liberty Station in Pt. Loma.

The free event is part of National Plug In Day a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of new all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks and motorcycles. The event is sponsored by a number of auto manufacturers and SDG&E.

Vehicles will be on the display and available to drive on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Liberty Station, 2401 Truxtun Road, in the parking lot of Trader Joe’s.

You can get behind the wheel and test drive these vehicles:

  • Nissan LEAF
  • Chevy Spark EV
  • Chevy Volt
  • BMW i3 (passenger rides only)
  • Fiat 500e
  • Ford C-Max Energi
  • Ford Focus EV
  • Ford Fusion Energi
  • GEM
  • Tesla Model S
  • Toyota Plug-In Prius
  • Toyota RAV4 EV
  • VIA Motors Extended Cab Pick-Up Truck

In addition to driving and inspecting vehicles, San Diegans can learn about home charging systems, special electric rates from SDG&E, and new state and federal incentives for owning electric vehicles.
