Week Ahead: Sock Monkeys, Wine Art and Santa

Saturday was the first day of winter. We don’t always acknowledge this season in Southern California, but after a period of unusually cold weather and pleas to conserve natural gas, it sure feels like winter. Here’s a link to the official winter forecast.

The La Mesa Adult Enrichment Center will hold their holiday open house at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The week before Christmas is a great time to donate food to needy local families. Consider a donation of food or funds to the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. The food bank serves on average 320,000 people per month in San Diego County.

Santa is at Grossmont Center everyday until Christmas Eve. Click here to see his schedule.

No prior experience is necessary for a glass painting class Tuesday at San Pasqual Winery. Stencils and materials will be provided.

The upright bass, saxophone and guitar of the Sam Johnson Jazz Group will blare Friday at Cosmos's Coffee Cafe.

The band Sock Monkeys will perform at San Pasqual Winery Saturday.
