Photo Gallery: Spring Valley Community Cleanup

Dozens of volunteers turned out the help clean out streets, garages, and alleyways in the community.

The sponsored a community cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 24 at , with the purpose of helping beautify the community by disposing of tons of waste.

More than 30 large dumpsters were donated by Dependable Disposable & Recycling for the event.

The Chamber partnered with Skyline Church, who helped coordinate and mobilize more than 40 volunteers, who helped load truckfulls of concrete, scrap metal, green waste, furniture, mattresses, and general junk into the dumpsters. According to Chamber executive director Tina Carlson, 37 dumpsters were filled and disposed of.

"We partnered with the Chamber, really just to help serve the community," said Daniell Rundle, local Serve Coordinator with Skyline. "We just wanted to help clean up Spring Valley, and do whatever we can to help each other out."

Hundereds of residents also participated by going through neighborhoods and alleys, clearing them of unsightly debris.

"The neighborhoods really came together, not just clearing stuff out of houses or garages, which is pretty awesome," said Rundle.

In addition, there was a E-waste recycling center at the high school, as well as a large mobile paper disposal shredder.
