New Seasons Church Hosts Free Backpack Event

The church is partnering with Neighborhood Healthcare to provide T-dap vaccinations as well.

Continuing with its longstanding tradition of service to the Spring Valley community, New Seasons Church is partnering with Neighborhood Healthcare for a free health event on Thursday, Aug. 11, from noon to 2 p.m.

The church will be providing new backpacks to about 200 East County school children. In addition, Health Net will be providing T-dap vaccinations to any middle or high school students that need it as part of the new state requirement.

A free lunch will be provided by the Summer Food Service Program to all children under 18.

The backpacks will be filled with necessary school supplies, including pencils, pens, rulers, notebooks, and more.

New Seasons offers many community service events throughout the year, including the each November.

In addition to the backpack giveaway, vaccinations, and lunch, representatives from WIC, Head Start and San Diego Youth Services will be available to answer questions and provide information.
