30 Under 30 Party Honors Young Community Leaders, Saluted in October

October saw 30 young leaders profiled in San Diego County Patch sites. On Thursday night, 21 of the honorees joined nine Patch editors, including senior regional editor Chris Jennewein, at the for a formal thank-you from Patch.

In his remarks, Jennewein thanked the honorees for their service.

“Thank you to the honorees for what you are doing to make San Diego County a better place,” he said. “You were nominated by your peers and colleagues in the community, by the people who can see the impact of your efforts every day. Our role at Patch was simply to tell your story.

“The articles that are appearing on this screen tells stories of community involvement, entrepreneurship, political savvy, technical excellence, artistic creativity and personal sacrifice. But above all, they are stories of San Diego County’s new leaders. Thank you for the examples you are setting.”

The honorees were also given certificates from state Sen. Joel Anderson, R-El Cajon. Anderson's district representative Elizabeth Blumberg attended the reception and expressed the state Senate’s congratulations.

Patch editors present were Michelle Mowad (La Jolla Patch), Hoa Quách (Poway), Deanne Goodman (Carlsbad), Julie Pendray (Ramona), Ken Stone (La Mesa), Jennifer Vigil (Coronado), Christine Huard (Lemon Grove) and Eric Yates (Mount Helix). Regional publisher Steven Suhrheinrich and senior advertising manager Lee DeLay also took part.
