To Protect Mount Helix Homes and Drivers, Slope Repairs Begin Near Fuerte Drive

Drivers should expect delays on Fuerte Drive through January as crews make repairs to sloped areas near the street.

Starting this week drivers on Fuerte Drive, Mount Helix's busiest street, should expect delays through the end of the year so repairs can be made to sloped areas, according to the county department of public works.

Action is necessary to protect homes and drivers.

If left unaddressed these slope areas could further deteriorate and cause disruption to traffic and properties at these locations on Fuerte Drive," said Project Manager Michael Lord. "With slopes such as these there is always a potential for erosive failure if the proper steps aren’t taken to mitigate that potential. However, there is no immediate failure anticipated in the form of a landslide."
