Open Letter to Sempra & SDG&E Demanding Analog Meter Replacement of Smart Meter

Be forewarned: If this is not forthcoming, I will seek and hire a qualified electrician to remove my meter and replace it with an analog that I purchase.

November 1, 2011

To SEMPRA Energy and its subsidiary, SDG&E:

I am writing to demand that the pulsed-radiation-emitting smart meter on my home be replaced with an analog meter, effective immediately. I have suffered for 1.5 years and am not going to continue to tolerate being forced by your company to have daily, painful headaches and other very problematic symptoms due to your abominable, hazardous smart meters.

I am aware that Mr. Richard Peevey, President of the CPUC Board of Commissioners, has authorized utilities to replace smart meters with analog meters (as voiced in a CPUC public meeting in September 2011, when California Public Utilities Commission President Michael Peevey told a suffering member of the public that the utility “will provide for you to go back to the analog meter if that’s your choice”) and that this type of replacement has occurred elsewhere in the state, as of October 28th, 2011.

Based on that permission, I request an analog meter immediately be placed on my home. I need the full use of my house.  I am tired of sleeping in the living room, tired of not using the master bedroom and bathroom or the portion of the yard which is near the meter. I cannot even use 1/3 of my own home, due to the negative health impacts of this meter, some of  which are life threatening.

I am tired of the harmful rf emissions and additional harmonic and other emissions on my wiring which have been independently assessed and verified.  These are of levels illegal in many countries. My family deserves safety and security in our own home, which your company has taken away.

Restore this by replacement with nothing less than an electromechanical analog meter (not a digital electronic meter which has some of the same problems as the smart meter on my home now).

I am in communication with a large number of people who are in the same position or worse. We do not deserve to be harmed,  ignored, nor cast out of our own homes by a utility company owned in part by parties in Hong Kong. This is not Communist China; this is the United States, and here, I have the right to my home, my property, and my health, as do the others suffering from your smart meters.

We are heading into the holidays. I am not interested in repeating the nightmarish scenes from last year, in pain, with my health impaired, inability to sleep in my own bed, other members of the family severely impacted.

We cannot wait for bureaucratic delays nor false options that are smart meters in disguise, such as electronic digital meters, which have switching mechanisms that cause dirty electricity on wiring. We are aware that others in California have been allowed an analog.

Be forewarned: If this is not forthcoming, I will seek and hire a qualified electrician to remove my meter and replace it with an analog that I purchase. I am giving your company the opportunity to place an electromechanical meter on my home, after I have inspected and approved the type of meter, so that this does not have to occur. One thing is certain.

I will not allow SDG&E to harm or even kill me with its defective technologies, which I have confirmed can occur. I want to be very clear on that. No amounts of threats or harassment by your company will deter me from saving my life and health by taking matters into my own hands, if that is the only recourse.

I encourage all others sick from these horrific meters to consider doing the same. I invite any attorney or elected official reading this to contact me in support of my rights and that of a growing number of many other informed citizens who will also not allow harm to come to themselves or their families, including those who have been cast out of their own homes as they have become uninhabitable.

Enough is enough.  This is inhumane and Mr. Peevey has given the green light. You can no longer say that no one can have a smart meter removed because the CPUC doesn’t allow it. That was never true, but now it has been demonstrated to be so. As a disabled person and senior citizen, I demand comparable treatment, which is a true and verified electromechanical analog meter. You may contact me for an appointment to install it this week.

Lastly, but not least, I want to tell your SEMPRA corporate headquarters in Hong Kong and other locations that the Occupy movement in America is showing that they detest the harm that major corporations are causing to our nation, along with political mishandling of these situations.

The establishment of smart meters on our homes is an egregious example of direct harm to American citizens, an assault on our health, our lives, and that of our families. We decry this and will Occupy our own homes.

Sincerely,

Susan Brinchman

Readers: To all those who have suffered at the hands of SDG&E, due to the Powerlink project, installations of massive solar or wind turbine projects in Boulevard, CA, arcing lines that are said to have triggered several of the East County fires, or through negative experiences following smart meter installations (health impacts, appliance burnouts, or loss of use of your home), we must, as customers and citizens of the United States, say "No" to a multinational corporation that is treading on our rights to safety and security, enjoyment of our property.

I sat in a meeting this past month in El Cajon packed with at least 250 people angry over much of the above. These people even reported continued arcing of the power lines, moreso than ever, and predicting more tragic fires to come, since these are not being addressed. This is not right. This is un-American, to be treated like this. I invite you to comment and contact me in support.

I invite you to write SEMPRA Energy and SDG&E in support of me and of your own family and health. I invite you to research who owns SDG&E to better understand why their own sympathetic and increasingly disturbed employees have not been allowed to help suffering customers.

This is un-American and we should not tolerate the destruction of our homes and county, our lives and health, our peace and happiness, at the hands of an uncaring multinational corporation whose first priority is money and whose last priority appears to be the welfare of American citizens. Elected officials: do your job. Stand up for your constituents.
