The Chargers announced on Monday that 4,500 tickets needed to be sold to avoid the team's second consecutive blackout of a home game.

The Chargers football game against the New York Giants Sunday will be aired on San Diego television screens after all, the team announced Friday.

Fox 5 San Diego and the San Diego County Toyota Dealers guaranteed purchase of the remaining seats, the Chargers said. Since an NFC team is visiting, the game will appear on Fox 5.

The Chargers announced on Monday that 4,500 tickets needed to be sold to avoid the team's second consecutive blackout of a home game. Last Sunday's 17- 10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals was the National Football League's first blackout of the season.

The NFL requires all but the most expensive seats to be sold 72 hours before kickoff for a contest to be shown on local television.

The Chargers announced on Monday that 4,500 seats still needed to be sold to avoid another blackout. That figure was lowered to 3,000 Thursday, when the team announced it had been granted an extension of the 72-hour deadline.

Now, about 2,400 seats remain to be sold, plus some club level tickets, according to the Chargers.

The San Diego County Toyota Dealers will work with local military organizations to distribute a portion of the tickets to individuals and families who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend the game.
