The La Mesa National Little League All-Star team, which claimed a District 33 championship on Sunday by finishing an unbeaten run through the tournament, now is preparing for Saturday's opener in the Section 6 tourney.

LMNLL will face District 70 champion Rancho Buena Vista in the 11 a.m. first game, with District 31 champ Encinitas National facing District 32 winner Scripps Ranch American in the 2 p.m. game. The tournament will take place at the 4S Ranch Little League facility west of I-15 in the Rancho Bernardo area.

The section winner will advance to the Southern California South Sub-Divisional in Fountain Valley. From there it's on to the Southern California Championship Series in West Covina, the West Region Tournament in San Bernardino and the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA, for one fortunate team.
