High School Soccer, Basketball Playoffs Begin This Week for Local Schools

Four local teams square off versus teams from North County in the first round of the boys basketball playoffs.

As winter winds down, high school sports begin to heat up when playoff brackets are announced. The pairings for basketball and soccer playoffs are posted on the CIF website, with the teams in La Mesa and Spring Valley appearing in the following games:

BOYS BASKETBALL, Wednesday, Feb. 20, 7 p.m.

Monte Vista @ Valley Center
Mount Miguel @ Del Norte
Grossmont @ Carlsbad
Escondidio @ Helix

GIRLS SOCCER, Tuesday, Feb. 19, 5:30 p.m.

Grossmont @ Torrey Pines

GIRLS BASKETBALL on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 7 p.m.

Kearny @ Mount Miguel
Castle Park @ Monte Vista

BOYS SOCCER on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 5 p.m.

Monte Vista @ Canyon Crest Academy

Sorry, Sharron. No El Cajon Patch. But we sometimes cover stories in Rancho San Diego. Steele Canyon sports are eligible for announcements and calendar items, however. Consider becoming a blogger for Patch (or recruiting them). You can give as much attention to the Cougars as you want!
