Helix Softball Coach Has Goal to Win Grossmont League, Led By Seniors

Emily Kowalski, now in her second year as varsity coach, has aspirations for the CIF playoffs for the Scotties once again.

Helix Charter High School's head softball coach Emily Kowalski knows that her team has the talent and leadership to accomplish big things this year. But playing in the always-tough Grossmont League will certainly have its challenges as well.

Led by seniors Chanelle Ward, Keana Nakata, Kai Penn and Sydni Toilolo, Kowalski said the team as a lofty goal to win the league. But for a team that finished with just one league win last season, playing .500 and getting to the CIF playoffs will be a step in the right direction.
