Heartland Swim Hosts Annual Summer League Championships

The meet begins at 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday at Granite Hills.

On Friday, August 2, and Saturday, August 3, Heartland Swim Association (HSA) will host its annual Summer League Swim Championship meet at Granite Hills High School.

HSA hosts the championship for the 12 teams who participate in their summer league program. HSA, a leader in club swimming in East County for the last 35 years, developed its summer league program as an introduction to competitive swimming.

Many of Heartland’s swimmers start in the summer league program and have gone on to compete in college and the Olympic trials.

Heartland’s summer league teams practice at 10 different locations throughout East County, including Grossmont High and La Mesa Municipal Pool, with a staff of 60 coaches.

This year, 430 young swimmers, ages 5-18, will compete in the two-day championship meet. The meet begins at 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. For more information about HSA and its summer and year-round swim programs, visit their website at Heartlandswim.org
