A huge cheer went up at 4 p.m. as the San Diego Chargers starters took the field Saturday for their first public practice of the season following a long NFL lockout. Shouting out the names of their favorites and reacting to plays with ooohs and aaahs, hundreds of fans crowded Chargers Park and the Murphy Canyon bleachers and lined the fence.
With their first exhibition game Aug. 11 against the Seattle Seahawks at Qualcomm Stadium, the Bolts had plenty of work to do. But even after a sweaty two-hour practice on the field in pads, players treated screaming fans to autographs.
Here are the times the public can watch practice sessions over the next week:
Sunday: Practice 4-6 p.m.
Monday: Practice 4-6 p.m.
Tuesday: Practice 4-6 p.m.
Wednesday: Practice 6:30-9:25 p.m. at Qualcomm Stadium
