Athlete of the Week: Brett Stone, Grossmont Outfielder

Stone, a senior, has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the University of Northern Colorado in the fall.

For the Grossmont baseball team, they knew that they did not want a repeat of their 2012 season, when they won only eight games, finishing dead last in the Grossmont Hills League while failing to win a league game (0-15).

They've turned things around in a big way behind first year coach Chad Williams, with a 14-5 record (3-1 in league play).

One of the keys to the turnaround has been the production of the Foothillers senior team leaders. Brett Stone, a two-year starter, is one of those leaders.
