14 Hoops Stars from Spring Valley, La Mesa Named to 'All-East County Team'

Four La Mesa and four Spring Valley boys basketball players were named to the All-East County Team by East County Sports.

Mount Miguel senior guard Izzy Wagner was also named Co-Player of the Year, along with guard Andre Nikkita from El Cajon Valley. Grossmont's Tommy Rutherford was named the Rookie of the Year.

On the girls side, five players from Spring Valley and one from La Mesa were named to the All-East County Team. Monte Vista forward Kayla Kulhanek, a former cheerleader who joined the basketball team in her senior year, was named Rookie of the Year. Granite Hills senior Skylar Williams was named Player of the Year.
