There’s No Place Like Homecoming at Grossmont High School
Wizard of Oz halftime theme enchants fans and families as Foothillers stay unbeaten in football.
The Wicked Witch of the West—or perhaps the East—joined with not-so cowardly lions and brainy scarecrows to celebrate Homecoming at Grossmont High School on Friday night. Crowned queen and king were Danika Brown and Stephen Sena, honored at halftime of the Wizard of Oz-themed event as parents escorted their sons and daughters underneath swords drawn by the Navy Junior ROTC. Cheers came from the stands during the Hillers’ 35-21 defeat of Mar Vista High School of Imperial Beach, as coach Tom Karlo’s squad stayed unbeaten, a record of 4-0.
