About 375 seniors were awarded their diplomas during the school's 54th commencement ceremony on Thursday night.

Friends and families packed out Matador Stadium at for the school's 54th commencement ceremony on Thursday, June 16. About 375 seniors were awarded their diplomas, capping off what Principal Steve Coover called, "one of the most talented, successful classes in recent memory."

The students entered through the south endzone of the football stadium to hoots, hollers, shouts, chants, whistles, and air horns, all amid the backdrop of the Mount Miguel band playing "Pomp and Circumstance."

After the graduates took their seats, the MMHS Honor Choir sang "Defying Gravity," with Sabrina Porter as a soloist.

Coover encouraged the students to keep celebrating their achievements, their diversity, and their talents, and said they "they will always be a part of the Matadors family."

Raymond Mai was presented with the MMHS Accolade Award. The Salutatorians were Elizabeth Tortor (4.581 GPA) and Laura White (4.585 GPA).

The Valedictorian was Stephanie Bilyeu (4.725 GPA). Bilyeu earned the California Scholarship Federation Life Member Award, and will attend UCLA.
