Mount Miguel Celebrates 330-Plus Graduates at 56th Commencement

Names of graduates were read with special flare—like introductions of prizefighters—before an overflow crowd.

Grossmont district schools Superintendent Ralf Swenson and school board President Jim Kelly shook hands with more than 330 graduates Wednesday night on the football field at Mount Miguel High School.

Valedictorian Rosalinda Diaz, with a grade-point average of 4.714 elevated thanks to Advanced Placement classes, spoke. She plans to go to UC Santa Barbara.  Salutatorian Soz Mirza, with a 4.667 GPA, joined her in addressing classmates. She’ll attend UCLA.
