Man Charged for Supplying Alcohol for Helix Post-Prom Party

Jerome Spruille, 24, was arrested, cited and released for violating San Marcos' social host ordinance according to a San Diego County Sheriff's Department news release.

A man has been arrested, cited and released for supplying alcohol for minors after a post-prom party, it was reported Tuesday by NBC San Diego.

Jerome Spruille, 24, rented a house in San Marcos in order to host a party for his younger brother and 40 of his friends, according to police, who added that Spruille admitted to supplying alcohol for the underage kids.

Spruille was arrested, cited and released for violating San Marcos' social host ordinance according to a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Sheriff's deputies arrived at the house on Linda Vista Drive at around 2:38 a.m. on Saturday. There they found the kitchen littered with empty beer cans and alcohol bottles, as well as empty cups.

Violations of the social host ordinance can carry with it fines of up to $1,000 for the first offense. Subsequent violations can bring fines of up to $2,000, 32 hours of community service or jail time.
