Grossmont High School freshman Kelley Sheahan is a grand prize winner for an original video she produced for the “World of 7 Billion” student video contest, sponsored by Population Connection.

Sheahan’s video, Origami Wildlife, which uses origami to show how human population growth crowds out wildlife habitat and contributes to the loss of biodiversity, was chosen from among 567 submissions created by high school students in 37 states, 18 countries and American Samoa. She won $1,000 and has her video featured on the “World of 7 Billion” website.
