Grossmont Stays Perfect for 2012 with Dominating Victory Over Granite Hills

Hillers quarterback Anthony Lawrence throws four touchdowns, avenges 2011 loss to Eagles.

East County Sports saved the best sentence for last in its report on Friday night’s Foothiller game against Granite Hills: “Now seems like a good time for the rest of the county to recognize that Grossmont is for real.”

Real as being 6-0. Unbeaten since 2011. A 48-6 victory.

“Last year, we lost to this team, we struggled,” Hillers quarterback Tony Lawrence told East County Sports. “It was an embarrassing loss (27-23 in final minutes). It feels great to get a win this year. We tried to put it in on offense on every possession and for the most part it worked out.”

“We’ll see if they can keep it up and win (Grossmont Hills) league. I don’t think they’ll finish it out (undefeated) but they are a good football team.”

On Friday, Grossmont travels to Steele Canyon Charter High School, which stands at 2-3-1 this season and upset West Hills 36-10 on Friday night.
