Grossmont Soars Past West Hills 55-17 in League Finale, Awaits CIF Word

Foothillers should be highly seeded in Div. II playoffs starting next week, and could even get a bye.

After losing its two previous games, Grossmont High School was hungry for a win Friday night—especially after starting the season with seven straight victories. And so the Hillers sated themselves by defeating visiting West Hills High School of Santee 55-17 on Senior Night.

Coach Tom Karlo’s team this awaited word from the CIF-San Diego seeding committee on where and when they would commence their playoff run. No matter who their next opponent is, the Hillers continued to confound the experts, including East County Sports—which picked the Wolf Pack to win 27-21 in the Grossmont Hills League finale. Not this year.

Tay Sneddon's West Hills team ended the season 6-4, but has a slimmer shot at postseason.
