Grossmont Outscores Santana 12-3 in 2nd Period, Cruises to Victory (Photos)

Led by Bilal Rahim’s 22 points, Grossmont High School defeated visiting Santana High 71-44 on Monday night in a nonleague boys basketball game. Senior guard Christian Barry netted 21 points for the Sultans, who were outscored 12-3 in the second period.
Senior forward Rahim was joined in double figures by junior guard Anthony Lawrence (11 point) and senior forward Austin Swisher (10), who made a pair of three-pointers. The only other Santana player in double figures was senior forward Dustin Murphy, with 10 points.
Frank Foggiano’s Foothillers upped their season record to 11-8, while the Sultans coached by Tim Barry fell to 10-10. Santana travels to El Cajon Valley on Wednesday, and Grossmont hosts Steele Canyon Charter High School the same night.
