The state also recognized the campus' arts program.

Grossmont High School recently received two prestigious statewide awards, according to the La Mesa Courier.

The campus was named as a 2013 California Distinguished School, the second time the campus has been honored. This year, the school was chosen from among 218 California middle and high school applicants.

Principal Dan Barnes said that the “recognition underscores the great work we are all doing to better prepare our students for college, career, and life.”
