Grossmont High Beats West Hills 33-10 in Regular Season Finale

Schools await Saturday meetings to see if they'll advance to the CIF San Diego playoffs.

Grossmont High School jumped to a 27-3 halftime lead and cruised to a 33-10 victory Thursday night over host West Hills High School in Santee. The Foothillers finished their Grossmont Hills League record on the up side after losing four straight. Coach Ron Murphy’s Hillers, led by sophomore quarterback Anthony Lawrence, have a  5-4-1 record going into CIF meetings to decide who advances to the playoffs.

For Grossmont, senior Jon Green had a rushing TD in the final quarter, Lawrence Walker was close to 200 yards rushing, and Lawrence scored by air and foot—a rushing TD and a passing six-pointer to Ryan Green. Marcus Phillips had two interceptions for the Hillers.
