Grossmont Bedevils Sweetwater to Advance to CIF Volleyball Quarterfinals

Winning three straight games, the Foothillers will now travel to Poway for a Division I showdown Friday with the third-seeded Titans.

Grossmont High School swept Sweetwater High School three straight games Tuesday night to advance to the quarterfinals of Division I boys volleyball in the CIF San Diego section.  The Hillers swatted the Red Devils of National City by scores of 25-7, 25-19 and 25-17, and will travel to Poway at 7 p.m. Friday.  Coach Sara Ortiz, whose Foothillers dominated Grossmont Hills League with a record of 9-1-0, will face the Titans with a 5-5-0 league record under coach Charles Jackson. Poway High School is at 15500 Espola Road.
