PHOTOS: South Storms Back to Win Girls High School All-Star Game 92-90

The South team employed a stifling full-court press in the second half that gave the North fits in the South's 92-90 win.

The South All stars came back from a 53-40 halftime deficit to beat the North 92-90 on Friday night and Horizon High School.

The South team employed a stifling full-court press in the second half that gave the North fits, causing a number of turnovers and allowing the South to get easy buckets.

Mission Bay's Briteesha Solomon led the South team with 15 points.

Jordan Mottershaw of San Marcos led all scorers with 16 points including 10 in the second half.

The South began the second half on a 13-4 run to make it 57-53 with 16:21 left. They continued to force turnovers and chip away, and tied the score at 67 with 8 minutes left.

A 3-point play from Mater Dei's Alexandria Young gave the South their first lead of the game – and they never looked back.

The teams traded buckets for the next few minutes and two straight jumpers from Mottershaw kept the North within striking distance.

But with 48 seconds to go, a steal and coast to coast layup from Serra's Tylinn Carter pit the South up by six and they held on to win.

Solomon was named MVP of the South team.
