La Mesa Historical Society History Roundtable Series

The La Mesa Historical Society will open its popular History Roundtable Series for the City’s Centennial year with a presentation on the cultural origins of our region.

The roundtable speaker on Jan. 14 will be La Mesa native, Grossmont High and SDSU graduate Cheryl Hinton, M.A., Director of the Barona Cultural Center & Museum.

Hinton will give an overview of the history, ethnography and current activities of the Kumeyaay/Diegueño peoples to discover, preserve, and continue their cultural legacy from prehistoric times through to today.

The lecture will be held in the Grossmont Healthcare District Auditorium.
