Free Horse Manure Management Workshop

Solana Center is offering a free horse manure management workshop at Bright Valley Farms.

Participants will learn how to successfully manage horse manure and compost, as well as things like:

  • basic composting methods
  • horse manure managemenyt and composting
  • how to use compost
  • the benefits of composting
  • how to minimize odors and flies
  • ways to protect local water sources

According to the Solana Center, horse manure management is an important component of environmentally sustainable communities because it diverts valuable organic matter from landfills and reduces the amount of waste that must be transported from neighborhoods to waste disposal and processing facilities.

Additionally, properly managing manure reduces stormwater pollution.

Composting is also beneficial to residents, as it's an excellent way to enrich soil in gardens, yards, and planters and can conserve water and reduce the need for fetilizer.
