Boys All-Star Game Is a Classic as North Edges South By One Point

Grossmont's Robbie Nesovic, Helix's Brian Valadez and Mt. Miguel's Thomas Butler helped the South keep it close.

In a back and forth game that featured runs for each team, the North edged the South by a single point in the 2012 San Diego Boys Senior All-Star Game, played Friday night at Horizon High School.

La Costa Canyon's Matt Shrigley, the CIF San Diego section Player of the Year, scored 19 points and took home MVP honors for the North.

Thomas Butler, Robbie Nesovic, and Brian Valadez all chipped in for the South, with 3, 2, and 2 points, respectively.

The North side battled back from a 97-91 defecit with 2:49 remainng. Trailing 100-99 with 14 seconds left the South moved the ball around looking for a shot. Javion Watson (San Ysidro) missed a three-pointer. It was rebounded by the North with one second remaining, and the game was all but over. Mission Bay's Jerald Albritton threw up a half-court desperation heave, but it charomed off the backboard.

Hoover High School's Chris Jones scored 18 points and won MVP honors for the South.

But the star was Shrigley, who played a fantastic all-around game. He led all scorers with 19 points, and he also contributed around 6 blocks and 3 steals (unofficial stats). His assortment of offensive weaponry included a steal, behind the back dribble coast-to-coast finger roll, followed by two consecutive long 3-pointers in the first half. His only two baskets in the second half were both dunks, one coming off an alley-oop.

The North led 55-46 at the half.

The South threatened to take the game late in the second half, as an 8-0 run in less than a minute, pushed their lead to 91-83 with only five minutes left. Watson had a driving layup and a long 3, followed by a North turnover and another three by Albritton.

But the North battled back and was able to hold on, as their size was too much for the South's lightning quick guards.

In the Boys 3-Point Contest, Tyson Kygar (El Capitan), Albritton, and Sam Okhotin met after advancing to the final round. From there, Kygar put on a show, making 22 shots to win the contest. Albritton finished second with 16 makes. Okhotin made 10.

Francis Parker's . Reuben Nwando finished second.

It was the first of its kind to supply full daily news broadcasts. The company's 24-hour coverageRead More became an immediate success and helped to launch their company from a mainly US-based platform to a world-wide sensation. It was also the first company in the US to firmly provide news coverage.Being one of the most popular sources for news in all of US history. has now gone online, and is one of the top news sites on the internet, available to subscribers world wide instantly through a web browser. While most of these organizations still report quality news, the internet has spawned a number of sites that comment more than report current news. Other sites have emerged to consolidate the top news. People should do some research before relying too much on a single service.

I heard that the landlord is using that property as a loss and does not care about renters. LooksRead More to me like it could be true. I also heard that a group from Mt Helix is trying to clean up Casa De Oro. Does anyone know for sure?
