Junior's first slam came in the fourth inning of 7-5 victory over the visiting Monarchs.

Grossmont junior Alex Connor hit his first grand slam Wednesday afternoon to propel the Foothillers to a 7-5 win over visiting Monte Vista. Connor’s home run brought in Eric Eckley, Matt Hemphill (also the winning pitcher) and Will Soto, who filled the bases in the fourth inning. The Hillers also got runs in the first and second innings, The Monarchs scoreda run in the first, three in the third and a final one in the seventh. The win brought Grossmont’s pre-league record to 6-2.  While the team's goal is to defend its CIF  title from 2010, Hiller Coach Jim Earley said, for now the players “need to play up to their potential.” Ten seniors are on the team.
