This week U-T San Diego featured the story of woman who overcame dropping out of high school in 10th grade to return to education at Grossmont College and become student body president at age 62.
Peg Marcus, a great-grandmother, one-time clown and the oldest current student on campus, has already earned an associate degree in social and behavioral sciences and is working on a degree in occupational therapy. She ran unopposed for ASB president last year and won.
Fellow students and faculty at the college refer to Marcus, a Santee resident, as a role model, energetic and even fashionable.
