S.D. Council Shuns Action on Illegal Encroachment on Lake Murray Land

Merrilee Miller: "Council continues to ... fight for the right [of] pyrotechnic operators to set up camp on our private property, knowing full well they are opening us up to untold liabilities."

Editor’s note: The following was sent to members of the San Diego City Council with a copy to La Mesa Patch. Marlene Dawson's remarks to the council can be seen 18 minutes into this archived video.

To the editor:

On Jan. 24, 2012, my sister Marlene Dawson appeared before you requesting that you take action and cease and desist claiming our private property is incorporated into the city's illegal park system.

This council has failed to acknowledge any misdeeds and has failed to take action to correct these illegal and unconstitutional violations. Rather than acknowledge and take action to correct these violations, the City Council voted to further expand Lake Murray Park, knowing full well the 2006 San Diego Official Zoning Map is based on fraudulent boundary lines, which illegally encroach on our private property parcels 674-010-04-00 and 674-010-09-00.

This City Council continues to condone and fight for the right for pyrotechnic operators to set up camp on our private property, knowing full well they are opening us up to untold liabilities.

It is for these reasons I will continue my fight for my constitutional right to access my property and will continue to expose the city's illegal violations.

Respectfully,

Merrilee Miller
