Questions for Rick Winet, La Mesa-Spring Valley Schools Incumbent

Surveys for La Mesa-Spring Valley School District candidates were sent out and returned for a late September deadline.

Editor's note: Rick Winet requested that his responses be posted as is.

There are so many factual errors in questions 1, 2, and 4—I am not sure where to start.

In place of providing your opinion along with the question ... maybe just try asking the question?

Here are a few of the factual errors in your questions:

#1 - For the past 2 years, ALL employee groups have teamed together to make an equal and shared sacrifice in order save as many jobs as possible.  The La Mesa-Spring Valley School District was the very first school district in the State of California to make this direction a reality.

Your question does not recognize this fact and, instead, attempts to place different classes of employees against each other.

#2 - Where to start here? The speech by the President was not banned, it was delayed.  The Board passed a resolution stating that we regretted the decision—along with the Superintendent, I drafted it. We certainly could have made a better decision—however—your question shows an absolute ignorance for the question that we faced as a Board at the time. There were Unconstitutional "lesson plans" delivered to all school districts ... these plans were to be delivered along the speech.
Instead of understanding the facts, you make a political statement out of your question.

#4 - This is taken out of context ... and, once again, you have a political perspective or goal in mind in place of just asking the question.

And finally, maybe you should reveal to all prospective school board candidates where your funds come from to begin a local website in late September—instead of asking candidates how much money they are going to raise for their election.
