Thousands gathered along La Mesa Boulevard Saturday for the 15th Annual La Mesa Flag Day Parade, this year celebrating the city's centennial.
Flags of all sizes waved effortlessly, and families celebrated adorned in stars-and-stripes. Many civic organizations had floats in the parade, as well as marching bands from area schools and local pageant royalty.
As it's election season, candidates from the 79th Assembly District rode in cars proudly waving the flag. In adittion , both and , walked in the parade. The pair will face off for the 53rd Congressional District on Tuesday.
The day culminated with a community group photo, where theyrecreated the 1923 photo of community members on the street at La Mesa Boulevard and Palm Avenue. The photo will be available for sale on Password: 100
