Mendoza’s commitment to local and state issues is what makes him a clear choice for California’s State Assembly. The son of a World War II veteran, Mendoza was raised to understand the value of commitment.  Whether through marriage, work, community or church, standing firm for what matters and standing up to lead when necessary is the driving force behind Mendoza’s campaign.

Fighting for lower business taxes to attract companies and manufacturers back to California is a strategy Mendoza believes will help create new jobs for Californians, stating, “San Diego was founded on Aerospace Companies and the Navy. I want to get the manufacturing companies to come back here again…” determining that being business friendly is a major factor to reviving this economy. Mendoza understands the needs of this community and is motivated by a firm desire to be a strong voice for the people of this district adding, "Job Creation in San Diego County is my [Mendoza’s] top priority."

The 79th district candidate is convinced that the budget crisis of our state is directly tied to overtaxing, overspending, and over regulation issues. Fiscal responsibility on a fundamental level is mandatory, citing that “Every household knows that you should not spend more than you bring in. As Californians we must push for an annual balanced budget.” Furthermore, Mendoza rallies, “Our solutions are not yet out of reach…strong leadership is essential.”

Mendoza participated in the fight for Defense of Marriage Act in 1999, and has served on the board of directors for The Garden of Innocence – an organization that provides burials for babies that have been thrown away and found dead in San Diego.  In 2002 the California ProLife Council endorsed Mendoza for State Assembly.
