More Beer and Wine Makers in La Mesa? May 22 Council Agenda

How do you know what City Council will discuss this week? Check in here.

Below is a summary of what is due to occur at this week's Council meeting.

The La Mesa City Coucil will move to approve a resolution that would ammend the Municpal Code to allow for small-scale breweries and wine makers to operate within appropriate industrial and commercial zones.

The current zoning ordinance prohibits the manufacturing or bottling of alcohol. Given the changing nature of this industry, the council will consider whether allowing micro-breweries and small-scale wine making operations a desired entity within the community.

The projects proposed in the program are funded through the TransNet half-cent sales tax. No commitment of the General Fund will be made with this action.

An additional resolution concerns addng a subsection to the Municipal Code (12.28.030 (56.22)) to establish an all-way stop at the intersection of Center Drive and Health Center Circle (East).
