Annual Multicultural Festival

This multicultural festival in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is one of the first Centennial celebrations for La Mesa this year.

The festival is in its 16th year and is sponsored by the City of La Mesa Human Relations Advisory Commission.

Everyone is welcome to come to the free festival, which features the Helix Charter High School Bagpipe Band; Ballet Folklorico, Centro Cultural de la Raza; and Sifu Dwight Love, Chinese Martial Arts Group.

Dr. Shirley Weber, Professor and Department Chair of Africana Studies, San Diego State University, will serve as guest speaker. 

Local middle school students who have shown to foster mutual esteen, justice and dignity on a consistent basis will receive the Human Relations Award of Excellence.
